Launched by the Government of India, the PM Viksit Bharat Rozgar Yojana (PM-VBRY) is a flagship initiative set to begin on 1 August 2025. With a vision to create over 3.5 crore new jobs within two years, the scheme prioritizes inclusive and sustainable employment generation, especially in the manufacturing sector. Backed by a massive allocation of ₹99,446 crore, the programme supports both first-time job seekers and employers to boost job creation nationwide.
Key Objectives of PM Viksit Bharat Rozgar Yojana
The PM Viksit Bharat Rozgar Yojana aims to stimulate economic growth by linking employment with incentives. It will operate from August 2025 to July 2027, featuring a dual-structured framework:
- Part A: Focuses on first-time employees
- Part B: Supports employers who create additional formal jobs
Part A – Encouragement for First-Time Workers
Under Part A, the scheme targets individuals newly entering the workforce and registered under the Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO). Eligible beneficiaries earning up to ₹1 lakh per month will receive an incentive equal to one month’s EPF wage, released in two phases:
- First payout after 6 months of continuous employment
- Second payout after 12 months, following completion of a financial literacy module
To promote savings discipline, part of this incentive will be invested in long-term saving instruments.
Part B – Employer-Centric Job Creation Support
Part B of the PM Viksit Bharat Rozgar Yojana aims to boost employment generation by incentivizing employers. Companies registered with EPFO are required to:
- Hire at least 2 new employees (for firms with <50 workers)
- Hire 5 or more employees (for firms with ≥50 workers)
Employers will receive monthly financial support per additional employee (earning up to ₹1 lakh/month) for two years. Manufacturing units are eligible for extended support for up to four years. The incentive rates are structured as:
- ₹1,000/month for wages up to ₹10,000
- ₹2,000/month for wages between ₹10,001 and ₹20,000
- ₹3,000/month for wages above ₹20,000
Seamless Payment and Disbursal System
The PM Viksit Bharat Rozgar Yojana ensures transparent and efficient fund transfers:
- Part A payments to employees are disbursed through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) using the Aadhaar Bridge Payment System (ABPS)
- Part B employer incentives are credited directly to PAN-linked bank accounts
This digital architecture guarantees timely, accountable payments.
Projected Impact on Jobs and Growth
The scheme is projected to benefit 1.92 crore first-time employees, thus enhancing inclusion in the formal workforce. By supporting job creation, especially in the manufacturing sector, PM Viksit Bharat Rozgar Yojana aligns with the broader national agenda of economic revival, industrial growth, and improved financial literacy.
